Regulatory Compliance Counsel

Provide legal and regulatory depth across DPOBOARD's privacy, data protection, and AI governance engagements — advising clients on obligations across GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, the EU AI Act, and a growing list of state and sector rules.
Responsibilities
- Advise clients on privacy and AI regulatory obligations across jurisdictions
- Review and draft policies, notices, and governance frameworks for legal sufficiency
- Support regulatory response and incident-related legal analysis
- Track legislative and regulatory developments relevant to client engagements
- Partner with engineering and governance staff to translate legal requirements into operational controls
Requirements
- J.D. and active bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
- 4+ years practicing privacy, technology, or regulatory compliance law
- Working fluency in GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and the EU AI Act
- Comfortable advising both legal and non-legal client stakeholders
Preferred Certifications
- CIPP/US or CIPP/E — preferred
